The grin vanishes and silken ears flatten to a smoothly furred skull, turquoise eyes narrow, and abruptly, a burst of erratic light erupts from between his closed palms, forcing his 'hands apart. The wave of intense heat can be felt by all four students, and then after only a split second, the light dies, though the air remains considerably warmer than before. A deep rumble of laughter shakes the black, who suddenly seems slightly more... dangerous... than before his demonstration of power which few Korats possess.

Jeggi stares in utter shock.

And she remembers that there's a reason why most of Atumi's students don't live through his training.
