We chose to put our 582 into a taildragger config as our strip is grass and we go to at times some challangeing strips ie Auster fly in's Our inspector said it would be better . Our orig undercart was one of the originals and cracked . No choice cut it out, ordered new one later type. This has been very good, even with my awful landings. To put one of these in is a pain but would I think be worth it. The tailwheel really does handle cross winds very well. However make sure that springs for controls are locked so the spring cannot detach. Otherwise it gets interesting. In the original build manual it shows that you have to change angle and move back undercart. Good luck Roger G-BUSR
