Very sadly Miss America is just another pageant now and the general population sees them as antiquated at best or stupid. The heyday of Miss America ended years ago and no one sees anything special outside of our community about Miss America. In fact when people think about pageants they think of four things: Miss Congeniality, that long piece by John Oliver after Miss America Aired, that poor “such as” SC USA teen and that USA/Universe is the only one anymore except rinky dink ones. Those people don’t even know that Volunteer exists. They think of USA or Toddlers and Tiaras. Feminists think pageants are degrading (not true) and although they are also not aware of all the ownership drama it makes it even worse.
