Subject: I am surprised by the top 5 and winner too but since when is financial need a criteria for winning or even placing. It costs a lot in wardrobe, etc to even get on that stage so need is not a factor. If they needed it so badly they wouldn’t be buying or borrowing gowns. Even though Alexa’s mom made hers I’m sure it cost at least a grand in fabric

[> Subject: I agree with most of this. Personally, I had Georgia, Indiana and Kentucky as the Top 3. I KNOW Georgia is a stellar interview. Her Miss America interview is still posted on Pageants Live and it is incredible. With the exception of Missouri, the Top 5's talents were mediocre at best. And in the final question, they didn't come off as great speakers either. But they were the "lookers". Frankly, the judging panel didn't seem all that qualified or sophisticated to me. It was all very strange.

[> [> Subject: I agree. Georgia, Indiana and Kentucky were no brainers for Top 5. They were the Top 3. 4 and 5 could have been any of the others, however, Mississippi, South Dakota and North Carolina were very very pretty.
