In reply to: 's message, "Scandal- What happened to the eligibility requirements? Anna Grace Loudenbeck- 0 ties to Maryland and was 3rd Runner Up at Miss Tennessee Volunteer." on Sun March 10, 2024 10:23:00

This year, we had a young lady from GA who competed as Miss North Dakota Teen Volunteer and we will have a GA girl competing as Miss Idaho Volunteer. In both instances, I was contacted by both Allison and Scott to ask if I was okay with this. In both instances, I agreed. I appreciate that they contacted me to make sure I had no issues before appointing these young ladies. By the way, I spoke with MY titleholders first to make sure they were okay with another GA girl competing before I told Allison and Scott it was okay. I also have requested that, in the future, in order to compete "at large" at the national level, the girl has to compete in her state volunteer pageant first. In our case, the Teen did compete in our state pageant last year, the Miss did not. I have no issues with girls competing at large, I would much rather attend a national pageant with 51 contestants than 35-40. Who cares where they are from? In my 25 years with MAO, I knew several girls who couldn't win in Georgia, so went to school in another state they thought they had a better chance of winning and going to Miss America.
