Am I the only one that feels a little let down by this organization? When we started I was so hopeful that this organization would be more like the MAO of the past. So many of our states do amazing things but at the national level the only thing we see our girl doing really is photoshoots beautiful clothing and going to pageants. Where is the service aspect? We need do better if we are going to compete with other organizations. Please let this be the year that our national is more than just a pretty face.

[> Subject: Disappointed, no. It’s still a bit early. I’d like to see all states with a director and better production at the national level. It took 97 years to build up MAO and three for it to fall. Baby steps. Meanwhile, nationals needs to focus on message, hire a strong PR team, production company, and focus on the aired show as the future of Miss Volunteer is watching.

[> Subject: Completely agree. Why partner with St. Jude’s and preach service if your national titleholder won’t do more than maybe 2 appearances relating to service. Call it what it is, Miss USA with a talent category. If they want that to change they should: actually have an emphasis on service, give half decent scholarships to anyone besides the winner, and figure out their branding.
