[> Subject: If you are trying to judge this based on MAO or USA scoring, you will remain confused. It’s a different scoring system where all things are equal. Which means you can theoretically win 3 categories (or maybe even two) and still grab a top spot. Learn and understand the scoring before you bash a system that is helping girls achieve their dreams.

I understand the scoring — 25% across the board. Top 10 determined after prelims but top 15/ 12 announced for production purposes. There were girls who were very consistently strong in all phases onstage that didn’t make the 15. It’s pageantry, it happens, but it’s a bummer to see. You can’t deny there was a certain look that was continually rewarded.
