[> Subject: Not sure why this question is even relevant. It’s an open title. Open, meaning anyone can apply. The title is given to the most deserving and most accomplished of the applicants. Lydia is definitely very deserving and has done more to promote the Volunteer pageant than anyone I have seen over the past few years. Including raising money for St. Jude’s and doing community service work. She exemplifies what Volunteer stands for. You sound like a bitter pageant mom whose daughter didn’t get selected.instead of attacking these women, why not try to support them instead?

[> [> Subject: I wasn't trying to attack anyone, I was genuinely curious. I'm pretty sure the last two miss Michigan volunteers have been from Michigan, so I was surprised to see a girl not from Michigan this year, especially this far away from the National Pageant. If they wanted to give her an open title, I figured it would be one that hasn't had a native contestant before.
