] Date Posted: Thu May 05, 2022 12:47:40 I just saw that my state rep said she competed on stage last night and has interview this morning. Is that normal that girls do on stage prelim competition before interview? We all know that judges can be swayed in that room, so is it unfair that not all girls got to interview before stage competition? [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
[> Subject: They did the same at MAOT this last year. It is a disadvantage for some both could be an advantage for those with strong talents going into interview after having competed in talent

[> Subject: This will definitely help Tennessee. She wins talent then gets interviewed . While SC talent was horrible she will loose points on interview . Definitely not fair . Seems like this was designed perfectly for Tennessee.

Date Posted: Thu May 05, 2022 20:26:49 There are too many contestants to get through in 2 days. They do this at week long state pageants as well. Has nothing to do with where Tennessee is, that part was also assigned alphabetically by state name. Don’t be a conspiracy theorist. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: Thu May 05, 2022 20:45:56 It would probably have been a distraction in interview, if they asked or commented on it they’d be wasting time. Not really any different than seeing Mississippi yesterday, liking her in interview and asking about swim prep, and then her winning swim. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
[> Subject: I have always believed that the pageant is ‘won’ during interview, and girls happen to look a little better in a swimsuit or talent, depending on that interview connection. We are only human. That said, all scoring ‘should’ be only contingent upon performance in each phase of competition. The playing field has a better chance to be ‘leveled’ if they all had finished interview the same day. Just my 2 cents…

[> [> [> Subject: Fabulous or not, if TN wins MVA is one and done. No one will believe it isn't rigged and very few state directors (especially those that appointed and planned to hold a pageant for next year which is a lot of them) will send a titleholder again. That is just the way it is.

[> [> [> [> Subject: If a bunch of petulant directors are going to cry and whine and pick up their marbles and go home because a beautiful and talented contestant wins a pageant fairly, well they don’t really have the integrity to be directors in the first place. If Tennessee was competing for any other state she would be on everybody’s shortlist and you all know it. The organization shouldn’t be penalized because the host state fielded a quality candidate. There’s nothing unfair about that. It stands to reason that the Tennessee organization is much deeper when it comes to fielding candidates than other states because they’ve been at it longer . It shouldn’t come as a surprise that their candidate is a heavy hitter. My advice: keep building your organization and come back ready to compete.

[> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Completely agreed! And the way this scoring is broken down, it is entirely possible for someone who doesn't win a prelim to win this whole thing, especially because watching prelims suggest the scoring (especially in Group C) is very tight.
