Subject: He tilts his head, studying the strapping bronze.

The rider shrugs. "It's usually two years before the females are fully grown and ready to fly, and about a year and a half, or even less, for males. He's growing quickly; he'll be a big dragon." With an abrupt creel, Daer awakens, blinking sleepily and looking around. Smiling, T'yin immediately sates his flit's hunger with a few meatrolls, until the little bronze perches on his forearm, content. "Full grown dragons, however, are not the end of your troubles, or cares," T'yin adds suddenly, grinning. "You'll have plenty to do before your handsome bronze here is ready to go on his own, with less care from you than your flit. Soon, Kadoth will be old enough to learn to fly. After that, betweening. Those are the two biggest lessons a dragonrider learns, quickly followed by how to chew firestone and the Thread-dodge drills." He rolls crystal blue eyes in annoyance. "Even for a green, who is the most agile of all dragon colours, the drills are hard." He nods towards the sprawled Kadoth with an amused look. "For bronzes, I imagine they're harder, seeing as they're less expendable than us."

Viouth raises her slender muzzle at the mention of flight drills. Please don't remind me, she mutters to T'yin, before adding to Kadoth, You'll hate the drills, if the new Weyrlingmaster is anything like the old. Strict, although I'm glad we did those... but I wasn't at the time. Her tone is wry as she reflects back on the day-long training that look every muscle in effort to dodge fake Threads thrown on the young dragons from above.
