Subject: Backfire? What backfire?
In reply to: Riddan 's message, "But planning can backfire." on 15:39:08 08/21/05 Sun

It shouldn't be surprising that K'vren is somewhat put out by Riddan's reply to his offer of help. He'd jumped off Notusith's back, scaring the poor dragon to death, and climbed down here at considerable risk to himself, and this was the thanks he got? To the bluerider, sarcasm is more of a blunt object than a sharp blade, but that's never stopped him from trying to use it. "No, I can see you've got it all figured out," he snorts. "And I suppose you know how to keep that vine from breaking? Or is that part of your strategy for getting over that log? I can always leave, if you don't need any help." Perhaps if his tone was sharper, K'vren would sound a bit more serious, but as mentioned, he's never been good at sarcasm. He's seen it used, and is one of those people who is convinced that he can do something he has absolutely no talent for. It's not that K'vren's particularly dumb - nor a genius, for that matter, just an average thinker with delusions of grandeur. He always does well up until the moment he opens his mouth, because while he'd be just fine if he just said what he was thinking, he prefers to dress his words up in language he's just not skilled enough to use. Despite his threat, the bluerider doesn't move, just sits on his branch and waits for Riddan to accept the inevitability of his position. It doesn't occur to him that the boy might not accept it, because K'vren's never been one for bravado - not that he's sensible, far from it, but there are some places where common sense tends to win out, and physical danger is one of them.

((Sorry for the short - there just wasn't too much to say there.))
