Hi Uncle Bob, I'm looking after my niece while my sister (her mum) is away on a project abroad.
She's 14, our sons are 8 and 9 so it's a bit different! Now, her parents are also spanking parents but we never talked in detail about our different spanking methods. So I took Lot's advice and sat her down and asked how her mom spanks her, and how she wants to be spanked. We had a very productive conversation!
She joked that she didn't want to be spanked at all but that was up to her being good! She said that her mom spanked her but not her dad. That seemed fair to me, me and my husband both spank our sons but they're younger boys and it's more embarrassing for a young woman to have a man spank her. Normally she's spanked first with the hand, and then with the hairbrush while lying over her mum's lap, usually with her mum sitting on the bed. She said that she tries to behave but she normally still gets one or two spankings a month. After the spanking she normally stays on the bed crying and is given time to "cool off", her mum gives her 20 minutes or so and then comes in to cuddle her and make sure she knows what she did was wrong.
Apparently she's gotten the belt twice, once when she was 11 for swearing and throwing a massive tantrum at a party. I remember the party well and she really was such a terror! Her parents left early with her and apparently as soon as they were back home her mum dragged her upstairs and whipped her bottom with a belt until she was sobbing.
The other time was when she was 13 and was caught drinking with her 17 year old "boyfriend". (not in the picture anymore). She told me she doesn't like being belted but it's something that made her behave better and she thinks it's appropriate for really big misbehaviour.
We talked about some rules, she doesn't have any specific rules back home. But personal safety are big ones for her mum, if she stays out late without calling home she'll get a spanking.
We decided that since we use wooden spoons for spanking the boy, we'll use one on Marianne if she's naughty but other than that, we'll follow the same procedure her mother does:
1) Spanked with hand over panties
2) Speanked with implement over bare bottom
3) Left in her bedroom to think about what she's done
4) cuddles
The boys are spanked then and there, but we might make it so that they get spanked in their bedroom too to keep it fair.
Lot, I was surprised at how mature Marianne took the conversation and how honest she was about not liking spankings, finding them embarrassing but that they were the best punishment for her.
