Rebecca, do you think there is a maximum age in years where spanking is needed/effective?

Rebecca, Mom of 16 and 14 who still spanked as needed. 16's spankings get less and less and so may stop altogether by end of summer. 14 will be spanked for some time yet.

It all depends on the kid. Some kids do not ever respond well (or respond negatively) to spanking at any age. Of our five we had one like that. And only two were spanked age thirteen and above. One very briefly, but the other did not get her last until 17.

Yes I have heard similar stories that some kids need to be dealt with in other ways. My oldest will at times respond well to talking things over with me my youngest yet to reach that stage.
