It was just my sister and I growing up, we have no brothers. I do however know several girls from our church who were still spanked well into teenage years whose brothers were not spanked anymore. It's not like it was an official policy or anything like that but I think the parents would discuss things like this at meetings or other functions. I do think that when kids are younger, boys are spanked more often than girls are but as time passed, girls were spanked much more often than boys once kids reached the pre-teen years. Then looking online for proof no kid my age was spanked I ran across a group called something like "Spank With Love." They had a forum for kids in my boat. This was about twelve years ago. Unlike this forum, or anything like it now, parents had to send in proof of age and be interviewed. All posts had to first be approved by parents and the moderator (who was quite strict about it). I begged my parents to let me join, and they did. It was a big help for me, just in learning I was not alone, and developing strategies to avoid, and eventually end, this type of childish punishment. I bring it up here because boys outnumbered girls at least five to one. However, I am not sure that is typical across the population at large. In talking with girls/women since then I believe older girls are probably spanked more than older boys -- but generally only talk about it with other girls, if they do at all.
