I would tell her the same thing a detention in school even on purpose will be a spanking at home . I would ask why because she could be bullied for being a goody two shoes and never getting in trouble . I have seen kids when I was in school get bullied that way

First thing, I would ask her why she wants to experience this. Is she doing research for some thesis or article she's writing? If so, I would suggest she tell a school administrator what she wants to do, and they can allow her to sit-in, participate in and observe a detention. If they won't allow that, then it depends on what she does to earn the detention. If it's something harmless and not a big deal, I'd let her do it without punishment at home.

Why she is doing it is important. If it's for a worthy cause, I'll support it.
