Paddles now are standardized in each school the size of the paddles are in the school handbook our Christian school has two sizes a smaller one for K through 5 elementary school a big one for grades 6 through 12 middle and high school the wood shop class in high school makes the paddles for the principal and APs

Miss Mellenger had a "normal" paddle in her desk drawer. I'm pretty sure all the teachers had one issued to them at the beginning of the school year...knowing her, she never would have requested a paddle at all.

And as you said, it's likely they were made in the woodshop class of our local high school.
