If so, how should they differ? For example, when I was punished for forgetting to a chore, it was always over my panties. However, disobedience or lying meant my bottom would be bare. I think a parent must react to the moment rather than be bound by too many preconceived ideas. There are various factors surrounding a particular punishment, under a particular set of circumstances at that time, that determine an outcome. Backtalking (including mouth soaping) Failure to do chores Slacking off at school Fighting with siblings Arguing with parents Curfew violations (more than 15 minutes) These are the known an automatic things that will get your butt set on fire.
