Hello JanR

I'm glad you are being careful with your phone at school etc. I expect that as awful as your dad's strap may be it's helping you keep to the straight and narrow, a better way of living. At least that's what I found when I was getting it growing up and yes, at 20, if needed, I got it.

If you could make a choice between the strap and being punished some other way, perhaps grounded, I have two questions. Which do you think would be more beneficial to help you grow to be the person you want to be? Second, and honestly, if you had a choice going forward between the strap or a different punishment, which would you choose?

I can totally identify with the sight of the strap making you nervous. Does your dad strap anyone else besides you? Siblings? Your mother? Others?

Yes ma'am, I text only when I'm allowed. I do have to make this one quick. I have a few minutes. I really fear that strap ma'am and that's what makes it effective. I would not fear grounding like I do the strap.

As much as I hate it, honestly, that strap is very beneficial and I can hardle believe I said that. I hate it, hence isn't that the whole idea? So I guess I would have to say I would choose the strap cuz that is what I really fear and hate.

I heard dad threaten mom once. I can't remember what it was. I think she overlooked a bill or something. I heard him say "Well Ann I know how effective the leather is on Jan." Or something like that. He was joking though, well, I think!!!!! I have no siblings so I'm the only one getting spankings here.

Hi JanR,

I'm surprised there aren't others, especially your mom, who'd get the strap from your dad. He seems quite expert with it and someone who is happy to use it to help others. Plus, a disciplinarian at heart.

I have to wonder if he's not had to help your mom with it and the closest you've come to knowing is his mention of how effective it was to your mother.

Were either of your mom or dad spanked growing up? At your age?

Dear Mindy,
OH yes ma'am. Dad is very skilled with the strap. Dad works a lot from home so when I'm away like at school, who knows. Neither of them have ever said anything. Honestly ma'am, I don't know if either mom or dad got it growing up. That might be a good question for my uncle although that wouldn't tell me about dad.
