For me, a good firm bare bottom spanking for a child is an intimate, nurturing (and even, bonding) interaction between parent and child. The personal touch, not so cold (perhaps not the right word!) and formidable for the son or daughter over your knee. Even if slipper/hairbrush/paddle etc. are to follow the warm-up. I have mentioned before that I often run the cold tap (faucet) over my burning hand after a lengthy spanking is given with it. Yet there is satisfaction for me in this after care.

My wife spanks at quite a pace with her hand, but only for a short time. Her hairbrush does the real work on a deserving bare bottom. Not too much technique really, most of her hand spanks hitting the sit-spots, if that makes any sense.

I, on the other hand, am far more methodical. A medium to slow hand spanking, the slaps alternating between buttocks. I cup my hand slightly, my wife uses the flat of her palm. My hand spankings are a lot longer, but the slipperings not so long as mu wife's hairbrush spankings.

I have heard of some parents spanking across the bottom, rather than vertically to the backside, as it were.

What are your thoughts on and processes used when giving a good spanking with your hand?
