First, we gave spankings on the bare bottoms only, both when they were younger (hand only) or older (paddle from age nine through thirteen. Bare and/or whether to use a paddle of some sort were among the only points we sometimes disagreed on, more in a following post. We didn't use actual cornertime at all before or after a spanking, but instead something similar we called "alone time" where they were told they earned a spanking and then sent to their bedroom for 10-15:minutes to wait, and think about what was coming.

I will expand this thread a bit with some more detailed posts topic-by-tooic related to my husband and I discussed, and how we came to concensus decisions on our spanking steps/process. I would like to hear how other parents discussed and made similar decisions as well.
