Thank you Brenda for sharing your experiences, Part of the reason I wanted to stoke this discussion is because how we use and practice spanking is a very important decision for parents to make. While I still firmly believe the choices my husband and I made were sound, and I do firmly belive that spanking was an appropriate discipline tool, it's clear from reading here, and from knowing other spanking parents that it almost certainly follows unique and/or a mix of traditional practices in most homes.

Rather than one long message sharing many minutia of many discussions I had on the topic, and process we decided to follow, I will split it up into "stages of a spanking," and share memories of the discussion that led to our practices. If others have similar or different rationales those would be great to hear.
