I have enjoyed the recent threads from Kelsey and Joanne, regarding attempts to persuade their sisters to spank, and indeed providing demonstrations with their own bare bottomed sons bent over the knee. I suspect many of us parents feel the same way about some of our own nephews and nieces - I certainly do! So, I thought I would turn this on its head somewhat.

How many mothers here have given spankings as an Aunt, or even as a grandmother (or stepmom)? Were those spankings moderated somewhat, given the miscreants bent over your knee were not your own kids? By moderation I mean that perhaps the bottoms were not bared, perhaps the hand spanking was less harsh, or perhaps a hairbrush/paddle etc., was left out of the spanking equation as it was your nephew or niece getting his or her bottom tanned?

Anecdotally, I recall my own discomfort and yes, embarrassment at watching my own mother spanking one of our boys. A reminder of what I used to experience so often. Interestingly, my mother still spanked their bare bottoms soundly with a hairbrush as she used to do to my sister and me. Mum told me she went 'easy on them' - I suppose it is all relative!
