How important do you think it is, if at all, that the hapless lad or lass over your knee with his or her bare behind pointing toward the ceiling, have his or her feet off the floor?

This may not seem like such a big deal but there have been a lot of discussions on this forum regarding the various ways the moms – and occasionally the dads – are particular about the positioning of the young man or young lady, they are administering a spanking to.

In my many years, on both sides of the equation – both giving a number of spankings but also getting my fair share as well, as a child – I’ve always felt that when the feet of the one to be spanked come off the floor, it makes them feel more vulnerable, less in control, like they have lost connection with that familiar, solid ground, and then they can only wave them in the air. I think that is a good thing because a good, proper spanking is more than just the physical aspects, it is also about the emotional and psychological aspects, some of which will be long remembered after the sting in the bottom has subsided.

If at all possible, I have always made certain the naughty one being spanked has his feet off the floor, just as mine were when I was spanked as a child. Honestly, I’ve never spanked anyone to the later teen and beyond ages some of you have, so getting a nearly 6 foot tall boy in a position that causes his feet to lose contact with the floor, may not be an option; I really just don’t know.

What say you? Is this something that is an important factor when you’re administering a spanking?
