Interesting that you boys debated parental spankings. I guess a good paddling from Dad was very much the norm in the US back in the 50s and 60s for badly behaved boys. But yes, so much more embarrassing to have your bare bottom tanned over mom's knee, than Dad's, for older boys ay any rate.
