My son practically lived in shorts - even in winter if I let him - so I was wary of spanking the back of his thighs in case I bruised him.

But I did discover that the way to deal with his tough-guy act if it went on too long. I was usually a slow spanker, but a rapid pair of spanks - one to the back of each thigh - caused a hugh gasp and then a loud "Waah!". The tough guy act was over and the crying had begun.

I aimed these two just below his sit spots, and he really seemed to feel them. If he had been very naughty I would expand the target area, spanking a little higher and further round the sides than usual, and also including the very tops of his thighs in "ground zero".
