I have been meaning to reply to this, but wanted to respond to many of the other threads that I was a lot further behind on already.

But spanking on the back of the thighs is something I have done from the very beginning. Our mother spanked my sisters and I on the back of our thighs as part of her standard spankings and it was AWFUL. Every single time. Mom always spanked long and hard, and that didn't change when she when spanked the back of our thighs, even with the more sensitive and tender nature of them.

So with how much I hated thigh spanking and how memorable they were for me, it was something I certainly carried over when I began to spank.

I've always spanked the thighs very much how I do so now. Similar to the other mothers, I will spank a hands or implements (spoon or brush) width below their sit spot region. So not terribly far, but far enough for them to certainly let me know they feel it. That is what I will do for normal spankings. If I have to give a more serious spanking, I will go a bit further down, maybe about half-way down their thighs.

Also, I don't just smack their thighs, but I also spank their sit spots, as well. The 'sit spot' is the area I refer to that connects the bottom of their buttocks and the top of their thighs. A wooden spoon, or concave brush will fit quite nicely in there. But when I spank, I make sure their sit spots and upper thighs are spanked just as thoroughly as their bottom cheeks. It may work out they don't receive quite as many swats, but as I don't count, I am not certain. But similar to what Mary said when she spanks, all of the areas are reddened to the same degree.

Becky, you asked about how far you should go down, and I think you brought up in one of your replies of going just above the inner knee. I will just ask, please don't go that far down. At least in using your spoon or hairbrush. Getting towards the back of the knee are ligaments and tendons. Stay in the padded/fleshy area, that's what it's there for. :) That is why I only go about half-way down at the most. Believe me, your children will let you know, quite loudly, how painful and horrible it will be.

Speaking of which, you asked if I notice any difference on their reaction/howling when doing so. Absolutely! The children already try to bring the house down with their wailing and screaming while I spank their bottom cheeks and sit spots. But when I spank their thighs, they attempt to let our neighbors know what is happening. And we don't have close neighbors!

It sounds like you have already decided to start implementing thigh spanking, so I will just say I think you are making the right choice in adding them as part of their normal spankings. I just want to give one more suggestion in I wouldn't try to 'divide' the spanks you already established with Bailey and Levi. For example, you mentioned 20 swats for Bailey during her first spanking, I wouldn't now give only 5 swats per area (5 per cheek and thigh). My recommendation would be just to just add more swats for the thighs. Especially if you plan to include the sit spot region, as well.

But of course as I mentioned before, it is early and you may need to experiment to find find what works best and most effectively for each of the children when you spank them.
