Sounds to me like you are doing a great job spanking your son. It sounds like he doesn't like your process or your slow methodical methods. Yes, I'm sure he wants to not be as exposed and he likely wants you to get on with it, but moms say he gets no choice in any of these questions, your job is to punish as you see fit and there is definite value in making punishments drawn out, embarrassing and juvenile.

If he dislikes spankings and your process then he can choose to behave it really is up to him.

As to your question I'd say when they were younger I was more the grab and spank type, but as they age the spankings became slower, more methodical with some scolding before and during.

I like your style, kids should hate spankings and it sounds like your son hates your spanking process, so I say good job and keep doing it the way you're doing it.
