Nerilki. The name was familiar � yes, Tathan did remember her from the few introductions he�d been given. She was around his age � maybe a little older, now that he thought about it, and he�d seen her around the Hold when he went for one of his walks. In truth, he had noticed her absence the last time the Holdless went there, but he hadn�t had the courage to ask, and nobody had told him of their own volition. So this was where she had been taken to�and this must be where her fire-lizards came from.

Knightess�s landing on his shoulder made him jump, and Tath just stood very still when she stayed on there, afraid of her falling off. The green�s chirps made him loosen up a little � she sounded reasonably friendly, even if her claws were digging through his shirt. Her hiss made him freeze up, and he watched the ensuing events with almost total confusion. It was an amazing culture shock to be thrown into this place. Everything seemed so different than what he was used to � he almost wished he was back with his �family�. It would certainly make things a lot simpler.
