C'lin hastened to fall to his knees next to the girl, whom was much shorter than him, and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, hey... it's alright. I'd love people to come visit more often, it's ok..." He hoped he sounded truthful--he was, but how was he to know what he sounded like? C'lin had the largest imaginable soft spot for children; he'd do anything for them. "Don't cry, don't cry..."

Veverith spoke again to Havinka. Don't worry, little one. Yes, I know Ith, she's a nice green. My C'lin won't hurt you. He loves kids. He'l probably let yo ustay, too. He needs friends. Maybe you could be our friend.

To his rider, he said, C'lin, her name is Havinka. She is the fosterchild of Hythe, rider of green Ith. She thinks you'll hurt her.
Hopefully you told her not to worry?
Of course. I like her.
Good. Then, now I'll have to convince her the rest of the way that I'm trustworthy.
