Hi all ...
We didn't need to do much convincing. We simply didn't even get them used to shoes. Footwear is what you wear outside when it's too cold, and find out yourself when it gets too cold to go barefoot.
Some acquaintances did wonder how it's possible for our kids to play in the early spring or late autumn without getting cold feet. Obviously they're fine and if an explanation is needed, strong feet keep themselves warm from inside, a healthy active kid will have enough energy to keep the toes as warm as their ears and noses which are also out in the open (they won't put a cap on unless it's really freezing and windy).
Laughing kids who are obviously fine with their situation are the best argument against anyone worrying.
