Hi, Carol ... I'd even say it's an ideal recipe if your kids get bored, drowsy, lazy and generally in a bad mood as it gets cold outside ... to introduce them to cold-weather barefooting. Of course snow has always been magic (it is to all children) but experiencing the soft snow under bare feet seems to double that!

And I truly admire them. Today my daughter talked me into trying it myself in the garden ... I stepped out barefoot and laid a track for maybe a minute but then I had to get in again as I really felt the coldness "biting" my feet, but she can easily spend 20-30 minutes in snow, her brothers too as they build snowmen, have snowball fights, all with bare hands and feet ... and then come in with glowing ears, fingers and toes for a hot drink and a hug. That's how I love them! They all went out three times today (it was still snowing, later it was grey and cloudy) so they're truly making the most of it. Their way to school is about 15 to 20 minutes walking and they're all eager to do that barefoot tomorrow, including the 20 minute mid-morning break in the school yard. So many cute footprints for everyone to admire!

Seems like at first they can't believe it, then they see how much fun the children have and that everything is fine, which usually gets them in a great mood as well.

Looks like everything is frozen hard where you are, so all that's missing would be a layer of soft white clean silent snow covering everything ...

All the best, Anita and kids!
