In terms of amount of stuff stuck to the feet that was probably my dear youngest son when he stepped in fresh cow dung during a hike in the Alps. As he described it, it felt warm, wet, slippery and sticky between the toes. I didn't have to try by myself ... Most of it was wiped off in the grass and the rest easily cleaned up in the next stream of water.

In the city they usually get a clear and sharp footprint on their soles, contrasting dark gray against their pale arches. My daughter thinks it looks neat and once said "sole makeup gets better with walking". The bigger the city, the darker ... in the small town it's usually unremarkable and they have nicely smooth pads. After washing there's some residue but that doesn't bother anyone (though we all agreed on a "clean bare feet only" policy inside the home).

Cheers to all, Anita (with 3 children)
