Subject: Issues aren't limited to Ohio. Vol emerged due to Allison and her mom's struggles with Miss TN America. Vol is a nod to the pre-2.0 MAO era. As MAO reverts, both Vol and MAO lack participants in many states. They preach inclusivity, yet not all who switch are truly embraced. Some girls hop from MAO to Vol as sore losers, attempting an MAO return, which often backfires. Girls may choose Vol for direct state entry and less time commitment. Others, like Jayleen, join after aging out of MAO, then they raised the age – talk about timing! She eventually returned. These journeys are a blend of motivations and circumstances which affect how they are treated.
