Subject: Can anyone tell me why Bailey didn’t place? Only reason I know is she competed at volunteer.. genuinely thought she might win it all this year. Baylee strikes me as having a very childlike demeanor; not childISH, but tender and vulnerable which can come off as needy. MA's direction is a fierce, accomplished, glamorous woman, like our MA Madison. If I were a judge and therefore didn't know of her, I would believe, compared to others, she's not emotionally up to the job of a state titleholder. She's also dangerously thin. Don't come at me with reasons or it's 'fitness', the fact of the matter is she looks dangerously thin and that's not a standard I want presented to young girls. She was strong in every onstage category, but there were stronger (including Stephanie who won both prelims). We all know Steven wouldn’t like it though. And I agree, Baylee comes off as a less mature than some others. This doesn’t have to be a bad thing if marketed correctly, but I don’t think she knows how to do that.
