Subject: 1 - no. Ohio relies on the winner to make her year what she wants. The board doesn’t help them whatsoever. She’s on her own. 2 - scholarships haven’t increased in many years. Miss Ohio still gets the same $10k she got in the 80s and 90s. 3 - as long as she meets the residency requirements, she’s an Ohio girl. 4 - the entire top ten - including people’s choice - were all local winners. Not a single at large made it this year. Previous poster gave spot on advice about locals. Many are run by older folks that aren’t in touch with current trends, leaving the winner to her own devices for prep (or worse, prepping her incorrectly). Shawnee would be my first choice, followed by Clayland, then any new local that might pop up. Cleveland is in a bit of disarray, and they have too many girls to prep. Choose wisely. Good luck!
