Subject: Card Swap; I am ON LINE! Yea!
In reply to: Jack Honeycutt 's message, "It's vertical" on 08:01:26 12/31/01 Mon

I am writing this message from my Mystic which I just got working on my DSL line.....

The postman came this morning and I recieved a network card. It is *not* a Comm slot etherenet card. It is called a PDS Card.

I plugged it in, removed the Comm card, and starting surfing.

So, my guess is that the extension called "Apple Ethernet LC" is the driver for the PDS slot (is that what it is called?) and the extension called "Apple Ethernet CS" is for the Comm slot card.

I am also guessing that Apple Ethernet CS extension is probably provided by software that comes with the card. My Comm slot ethernet card was a pull from a old mac I found at the Goodwill.

Does this sound plausible?

Thanks to *everyone* for the help!! It is the only way I could have had a snow balls chance in H*** in fixing this!

Maybe Chris, me or someone else should write up something on conneecting old Macs (or Mystics) to DSL and or cable modems.

PS: Wow! Is this screen small!
