Subject: What tells the tube to power up?

It is my asumption, that the analog board fires up the monitor as soon as it get's a video signal. Is this correct, or is there some other "signal" that powers it up? Please don't suggest a myriad of reasons why my tube is not powering up. I am not having "trouble". The thing is not even wired yet. The analog board of this machine is only going to power the tube, hard drive, and CD drive. The motherboard will be powered by a second PSU.

I basically need to know how to "turn on" the monitor, as if it were any old monitor.
