Oh, thank you for clarifying, it's an interesting insight. Makes me wonder what you've said to your mom.

I was a bit surprised how quickly everything happened. Personally, I find value in long discussions. Not necessarily in a form of scolding, when moms just keep on yelling and pointing out mistakes, but more about a given misbehaviour itself, and its consequences.

You have touched on a sensitive and difficult topic. How can we tell when an action is accidental or purposeful? It may be just me, but I tend to deal with accidents all the time. Saying few words too many, being late, forgetting to tidy bedrooms, and soooo many more. I tend to assume that most families are like this, and those highly problematic children that choose to violate the rules constantly are rare.

Anyways, thanks for sharing. It's nice to have read about many solutions to a problem, and you gave me something to think about.

Many times when my daughters fight, and we are done with their talks, punishments if necessary, I talk them into doing something nice to one another. A peace offering saved many bottoms, and if you feel like it, please do something for your mom for not going through with the spanking. I'm certain a small help in house chores will brighten up your feelings if you still feel sorry for what you had said.

Have a nice day :)
