I haven't posted on this forum before, but I've been reading for a while. I'm finally going to say something: most of the people writing "children", whether pretending to be a child or pretending to be the parent of a child, clearly have no idea how children actually act and talk. Sometimes, they're good enough you can suspend disbelief, or they're at least enjoyable enough it doesn't matter that they're obviously fake.

The posts like this, though, seriously make me roll my eyes. You can tell the writer believes young teens are inherently bad at writing, and is trying to make their writing convincing by adjusting the spelling or grammar to be of poor quality. However, as somebody who has read thousands of essays by hundreds of kids between eleven and seventeen... you guys have no idea how to do that realistically or even consistently.

Another dead giveaway is how ANGRY these people will get if you question anything in their story or otherwise don't go along with their fantasy script.

There are a few people here who come across as authentic. Debbie and the other teen, what's her name, Laura? They are either real teens or people with enough understanding of teenage psychology and writing skills to portray them accurately. Scamptoo comes across as a real person, although he says very little about who he is, so there's not much for him to be lying about, anyway.

The part that annoyed me enough to finally reply to one of these posts was "Agnes" throwing a temper tantrum when she was called out for going a little too far over the line in terms of believable severity. We're all here reading about spankings that are pretty harsh, we're all a little messed up for that, but most of us have a point where we can't read a post without thinking, "these kids would be so traumatized someone would notice and call CPS," and that makes it hard to just read it.
