 I am a single mother with a 13 year old son, Ted. Three weeks ago he earned a paddling at the private school he attends for knocking another student down in anger during recess. He got 6 strokes of the paddle on his bare bottom from his female principal, which kept his school paper record clean. Otherwise it was detention after school for a week and a notation of the incident on his permanent record. I agreed to the paddling option and attended it.

The principal, with Ted's female teacher as a witness along with me and the the principal's female secretary were the other witnesses. Ted had to remove his shoes and socks, his tie and shirt, his pants and shorts, and lean over her desk in just his undershirt with his legs spread wide and his bottom well positioned for the paddle.

He got six real zingers and Ted howled on every one and was blubbering and sobbing hard when it was over, but he stayed in place and took the paddling very well, although he danced a few steps after each stroke before resuming his position, and also danced and hopped about a bit after the 6th stroke landed. I was very proud of the way he took the paddling. And I was particularly surprised he took that physical punishment so well because he had not been spanked at home by me since he was about six years old. On the way home I told him how proud I was of him and how pleased he took his spanking like a real little man and not a sissy crybaby.

This was a Friday and before we left the office, the principal told me in Ted's hearing that if he were her son she would give him a good bare bottom spanking with a hairbrush at his bedtime to teach him that spanked at school means spanked at home. I gave that a lot of thought, knowing Ted had heard her recommend that, and very frankly I found the idea of putting him over my lap and giving him a good spanking myself really excited me. My palms were sweating holding the steering wheel driving home and the more I thought about it the better I liked the idea.

That evening at his bedtime, right after his bath, I went up and despite the fact that I could see that his bottom was still bright pink and clearly tender, I sat on his bed and put him over my lap and spanked him with my hand, and then I used my oval wooden hairbrush on him and really made him howl and cry hard. Afterwards, while I held and kissed and cuddled him, he said he could tell by my face driving home that I was going to spank him at his bedtime.

Since that night, in this three weeks, I have spanked Ted at his bedtime four times for fairly minor offenses, but for things he knows he is not supposed to do. Each time he has taken these spankings very well, without showing any resistance and without any whining or begging to be let off. It is like we have both accepted the fact that spanking is now back on the table as the primary means of discipline for him.

Every time I have spanked him he goes over my lap stoically and takes his spankings very well, crying and bawling very hard when I use the hairbrush, and doing a lively spanking dance when I let him up. He is always erected before he goes over my lap but he loses that pretty quickly as I am spanking him, so that has not been a problem. I have noticed that he gets stiff again as I hold and cuddle him after spankings and before I leave his room to let him go to sleep, and I do see stiffened washcloths going into the hamper almost every morning so I am aware he masturbates a lot, which does not bother or upset me at all.

His conduct and attitude with me, not surprisingly I guess, has really been very good on the whole lately and the spankings I am giving him seem to encourage that. For myself, I find I quite enjoy spanking him, much more than I would have thought or expected, and I have found spanking him once or twice a week to be for me quite a pleasant form of discipline to employ with him, and for him at least an apparently acceptable form of discipline that does not seem to upset him very much.

Have any other parents found that a school spanking has led to a change in how they are disciplining their boys and girls? Nancy
