Probably one of the most honest posts here. Growing up I got a few swats on the seat of my pants from my mom but never a more formal spanking as was common for children raised in the 60s. One day, I was probably about 7 at the time, we were watching the Walter Cronkite evening news (in black and white of course, no color TV yet) and there was a segment where a group of African children were lined up and had to walk forward and bare their bottoms to be spanked by an authority who appeared to be some type of police officer. I have researched endlessly and never got a precise answer, but I believed this took place in the Belgian Congo.

My mom commented afterwards that she should do the same to me, but she did not follow through and I was left wondering what a bare bottom spanking would feel like. The memory sticks to my mind to this day 60 years or so later and the topic fascinates me to this day.
