Someone actually posted about the ineligible SBU player on the Fordham board in January 2003 - it's still there if you dig. He apparently got inside information from someone at Bonas - there were plenty of people there who knew about the potential violation and just stayed silent, sitting on their hands. I have no idea why it took the mainstream media another two months to finally start figuring out what was going on. It's laughable that more than one media person claimed the "scoop" when they in fact were all scooped by an amateur several weeks prior.

That scandal cratered Bona's program for years, but to its credit has climbed back beautifully...some schools may not have survived it.
