CHAPTER 2
Revin Treedart was fast asleep in his bed, when a mouse holding a great sword entered the corridors of his dreams. Knowing instinctively that it was Martin the Warrior, Revin felt a strange peacefulness. Then Martin spoke, his voice was kind and warm, but his eyes were filled with the burning fire of a warrior, the same fire that was kindled in Revins own eyes.

"Revin, son of Redwall,
You must take my sword, and answer a warrior’s call,
Mossflower is in grave danger, only you can save it,
So listen to my plea, and do not ignore it.
Where water falls, without a sound,
Where brave warriors bones lie,
That shall be your battleground,
Where you shall fight, and where one of you must die.”

Then Revin felt something placed in his paws. Instantly he woke up. When he looking down, he caught his breath and stared in wonder; he was holding Martins sword!!

Abbot Jerl groaned as Revin shook him awake, "Oohh, what do you want, Revin? You crazy treewholloper, it’s not even dawn yet!"
Before he could fall asleep again, Revin tickled the old mouse's nose with the tip of his big bushy tail. "Come on Father Abbot, don't be such a sleepy head!" After telling the Abbot all about his dream, he asked, "What do you make of it, Father?"
Abbot Jerl was suddenly wide-awake, "What do I make of it? Martin has chosen you to wield his sword!"
Revin nodded, "I figured out that much already. I mean, about the part, 'Where water falls, without a sound', and 'Where brave warriors bones lie'. You know, the end of the poem."
Abbot Jerl just shook his head, "I don't know what it means. Maybe a light breakfast would help."
Revin laughed, "Hahaha!! A light breakfast? Seince when do you eat light breakfasts?!" The old Abbot grinned ruefully as he patted his ample stomach, "Well, maybe not a light breakfast..." Laughing, they went to seek out the Friar, paw in paw.
