So Gabby didn't make it. She did us proud. Thank you Gabby.

To the pageant company I ask you to observe the top 16 what was the difference between the top 16? Nothing. They were all the same girl with different hair and skin color. Tall skinny. Colombia was the only one with a lil curve to her. Please when you are scouting Miss Trinidad and Tobago contestants really remember that the MUO is not trying to think outside of the box. It's the mold. Miss world then you can go all experimental on the type you send.

But again Thank you Gabby

[> Subject: Gabby did great and I am very proud of her. She did her best. The Miss Trinidad and Tobago Org. now needs to really look at what Miss Universe is looking for. Hope we can finally get back to the semis next year. What has happened to us since 2006?. Where have they gone wrong?. They need to seriously now start scouting for real top contenders that the Miss Universe Org. is looking for....Congratulations Angola

Shandi Fennessi said that Angola reminded her of Wendy. Maybe The Miss Trinidad and Tobago Org. needs to go back and take a look at the type of girls that once was selected and who did good for Trinidad and Tobago. I am extremely happy Gabby represented us and I am very proud of her. She just was not what the Miss Universe Org. was looking for

THE PROBLEM IS THAT GABBY WAS COOKIE CUTTER THE LATINA LOOK IS PLAYED OUT SHE NEEDED TO LOOK UNIQUE.. THE BLACK CONTESTANTS LOOKED COOKIE CUTTER ALL EXCEPT ANGOLA, THE ASIANS LOOKED COOKIE CUTTER PHILLIPINES LOOKED LIKE A COOKIE CUTTER LATINA, THE EUROPEANS LOOKED COOKIE CUTTER. ANGOLA WAS REFRESHING, SHE LOOKED REGAL WITHOUT THE CROWN AND HER FACE AND STYLE WAS UNIQUE SHE STOOD APART FROM ALL THE REST. UNIQUENESS WAS THE ORDER OF THE DAY.

I'll keep this short. The problem is not the girl we send, the problem is WHAT and HOW we prepare the girl. We could have sent up someone just like Angola, we sent so many close lookers years before...it was obvious from the presentation show that Gabby was either nervous, I don't want to say ill-prepared but something was off. This is what we need to work on. Quite frankly, we should just take a break from Miss Universe.

...I'm not going to be rude but I don't see the need for pride and congratulations. She did not represent T&T, it started from that interview then it followed with the EG/SS. Trini women don't carry themselves that way...I remember Peter saying our winners should carry the image of every single Trini woman, from the market leader to the professional. Our ladies need some training in WHO THEY ARE. Take Latoya for instance, she stripped and completely forgot she wasn't representing herself, but her country.

I'm really not convinced that Gabby remembered it was T&T she was repping, someone of her age and experience to go off on with that accent, which to me is where it all went wrong. Obviously the MUO looks at these things and asseses a girl....

...Gabby was a good representative - in fact, one of the best-Period! Pgwhizz, if she had made the top 16 would you have been saying these things?

Let me be totally honest, Gabby lived a couple of years in the US doing her acting degree and she was TAUGHT how to speak and conduct herself on a stage. If you want to pong Gabby, then first pong me. I am of east indian descent, and did my Masters on scholarship at an I.V. institution where I learnt how to speak phonetically correct for my job. I am living in T'dad now and you could not hear from the way I speak anything to indicate I was 'up north.' However, if I have to do a presentation or talk to a group of people at work, this 'accent' that you don't like comes out with the standard english. So I don't get what the heck the issue about the accent is. Does an accent make anyone a Trini? Well then we should boycott Nicki Manaj's music and go off on Penny when she pops in a little accent. Gosh people, Gabby was doing her JOB as MUTT2011. SHE LOVES T&T! If MU wanted natural, authentic ladies that represent "every woman" in their respective countries, then they should have dumped that bag of bones with the botox shots, breast implants, bleached teeth and colored hair called MUSA 2011.

The main take away that I have from this year's pageant, is that NO WAY is MU going to crown a lady shorter than 5'8" again. Everyone in the top 16 looked tall (with the exception of USA and Philippines). Eveyrone was the same cookie-cutter shape just like last year. At least I saw a different skin tone this year.

Yo-Yo realized they would not sway from their mould for the organizational picks, while I was still holding out hope. I now know better. Ideally, our MT&T reps. should be 5'8" and above in height.

I always said Gabby did not fit the MUorg body type but what this year showed us is that regardless of how beautiful a relatively short delegate is, she will not place. MU is about fitting their clearly defined mould. MW is still more open to different types of beauty.

Valene 5'8", Shinequa 5'10" and Miss Arima from the 2010 local pageant are the only past reps. that fit this mould and still meet the age requirement. MUorg. likes young reps. but Valene is too strong to miss the top 9 merit list provided she has the right gown. Shinequa would be a top 3 fav. and placer in SS and gown. Miss Arima (from MUTT2010) would have to work her as# off to place but she is definitely a competitor.
