Modeleque with a soft, beautiful face.
I was a bit concerned that Christopher Natan would filter off all the real top competitors into modeling and we would never see them again on the pageant scene. Considering what I have seen for the last few years but the last 2 especially, we need to crown a tall delegate who has the model vibe but a soft, beautiful face that can appeal to the masses.
In my opinion Mr Nathan, is going to have to start funneling some of the models he encouters at castings to the MUT&T pageant.
One thing is obvious, when Gabby returns later this week and the committee sits down to discuss how to proceed they need to realize, as I did, MUorg no longer gives a rat's behind about how charitable and intelligent a rep. is. It is about primarily looks. We are a small nation so don't ever expect to be a MUorg pick because we have no political or economic leverage.
The thing I like about Mr. Lee's team is that they appear to listen to what people are saying online and modify what they are doing. The selection process for MUTT2011 was good but I would suggest doing an open entry format where young ladies can apply at any time of the year online/via mail. Another point to consider, is to give a quota of semi-final spots to members of the pageant team, essentially fast-tracking about 4-5 ladies to the semifinals every year. For instance, Mr. Nathan works with models. You can guarantee 2 spots are reserved for Mr. Nathan's to fill. Additionally, a list of past competitive delegates should be maintained and they should be given a wild-card to fast-track to the semifinals of the next year's pageant. For instance, Shinequa from last year should get a fast-track. Personally, if I was the franchis holder, I would reserve the right to fast-track a past competitor directly to the final.
All this being said, I know Mr. Lee and Mr. Nathan are neither blind nor dumb. Shinequa looks like someone who, once she performs well in the prelim interview, can easily place in the top 5 of either MW or MU. We need to get Shinequa or someone of her standard to be MUTT2012. I really don't give a flying fish about crowning anyone who could out-talk the other delegates. The selection should be about 90% looks and 10% confidence in answering questions - not how good the answer is-that's what can be fixed later.
