Personally this is my take on it and I hope PE&A does something about it....

1) MU is obviously part politics so we cant do much about it except boycott...which is a

loser's tactic.
2)Obviously Miss Universe IS ABOUT being prepared yes but also a big factor is the delegate's

modelling skill/being ON...We have seen it tonight with VENEZUELA...I mean come on her

presentation show as well as final swimsuit was THE BOMB! We are in 2008...sure it seems

pompous/bitchy...it isnt its MISS UNIVERSE!
3)TRINIDAD needs to set standards and stick to them...i.e. VENEZUELA has been consistent for

decades as a result of this! Example: When was the last time a MU 5'9 or shorter??? Also age is

important! 18-25 is good! 26 year olds are for MISS USA alone...
4)I know this whole standard thing may sound a bit un-Trinidadian etc...Venezuelan nah...but at

the end of the day...T&T is not a pageant fanatic country...as a result we need our delegates

to be of a certain standard if we really want to be jumping come top 15...Anya was grt and I

congratulate her...however I think her obvious faults were:
* probably her height...sure it shouldnt be but at the end of the day its about marketing...a

tall delegate will always be favoured over a shorter one! (See the last 10 Miss Universe's) She

also had a rocking body but with her height, her thighs seem larger than they really are in the

presentation show.
* Her gown! I dont know what some of you all saw in it...It was a bit reminiscent of Oxana's

own but look at the difference between Anya's and this year's Miss Russia...less cloth...no

need to be twurling all of it around and no huge amount of accessories...
* Her walk! Her SS and EG presentation was poor! I dont know what happened but I couldnt see

how some people saw her as a winner...WALK matters....(See Riyo's SS walk, Venezuela's...all

years since 1998...Isn't Anya a model?

Concluding I believe ANYA did a good job, not great because she didn't place...being real

here...We should not focus on all this 'exposure' as something good because at the end of the

day...3/4 of the exposure is on the final night...Not many people are fanatics like we are!

I hope Gabrielle is ready for MW and we need to come out this 1998 thinking of humble/big

clothy-dress Miss Universe...We are in 2008 and its time to freshen up...We have probably done

it fashion wise but I truly believe Anya, Kenisha, Maggie, and Faye (notice I excluded

Danielle) just didnt have THE walking skills that we see these Latin Americans/Asians got...We

need to improve...If people say ok time to come out this thing...I have no problem. But before

we do lets do it with class...ie ONE MORE MISS UNIVERSE!

The calls for us to dump the MT&TU franchise is nonsense. The exposure for our country from a placement at the event is one of the best advertisment blitz I have every seen from T&T-trust me when I say that TIDCO supporting the MT&TU/W reps is the only real effort I have seen in my 7 years in the USA by the T&T government to advertise our country internationally.

That being said, Anya's prelim performance was good-not great. The only way she could have definitely made top 15 was by being top 9 in the prelims. I am pretty sure India got screwed just like Anya did.

Anyone look at the ridiculous scores-how the hell can the SS scores go from about 7.01 to 9.4 -this just shows how ridiculous it is to let Mr.Trump choose 5 or 6 semifinalists. Additionally, why bias the judging panel-we all know Mexico should have placed higher based on SS, EG and Q&A performance- but hey all you need is one judge giving really low scores (anyone notice they don't toss out any scores like in the past) and you have the winner you want while the oh so fragile public thinks the composite score on their screen means transparency from MUO. What a joke!

So as we have seen-we don't need a girl who is the smartest- nor someone who really cares about children-only someone who photographs well with them and is beautiful.

If you'll have such a cynical view about the MU pageant why should we continue competing then? It makes no sense to complain about Trump and the fact that he may choose 5 or 6 delegates of his liking, all the while continuing to send our reps only to get shot down in the end.

...we can no longer send top 15 material-we need to send ladies who can make top 9 or top 5 ideally in the prelims for us to safely be in the final 15. The two biggest pageants in the world have their negatives and positive but once there is at least 8-10 places based on merit available for the semis then T&T has a chance. Additionally for the amount of money spent to send a lady to these pageants, a placement in the semis/finals gives much more exposure to brand Trinidad and Tobago than what the T&T government could ever afford.

People let's move on and start supporting Gabby!
