Naww, I beg to differ. I think it's some of your sad devotion to your ancient hero's efforts that keep you in denial.
But enough of this; It makes no difference. Bring on the baddest true 10.5" tired car that can make the trip from the I-49 truck plaza to the Eunice track, not fall behind the trailing escort and beat "X" at the dragstrip, as per the Edelbrock/ MSD IGNITION TRUE STREET RULES and it's on!
Since this "no-name guy" from west Tx. wants to come get some of X, I'll have to include the weight handicap. I'll wager whatever makes him happy.
Let's not stop with this fool. Anybody else want some? There's plenty of Bad Medicine to go around. "Open up and say AHHHH!"
