Races Yesterday -- Jen, 10:21:06 09/07/03 Sun

Congrats to Bryan C.----> #1 Top Gun spot is his (b/c nobody
else showed up).
Congrats to Fletch ----> #1 Super Stock Car b/c he (barely)
beat me.
congrats to David B. ---> I guess he jumped classes. Not
sure what spot he'd be in but I think he's now got
the #4 spot in Super Street Car.
Brian L.---> keeps his current spot due to his breakage.
Willie S. ---> Was there with the truck only, and I have no
idea what he ran.
Amy was there with the z, she keeps her queens spot.
kk ran the truck, she keeps her spot.
The tow truck class remains the same. No new challenges were made.

As far as I know these are the only members that I'm aware of who were present and running for spots. If there were others also there yesterday who wanted to run for a position, oh well. I announced it, and nobody else signed in.

You know that I cut the best light on a pro tree EVER, and ran the slowest et EVER on the same pass against you.??? lmao I'm tellin ya, my car was being a pain in the ass yesterday. It went from 1 extreme to the complete other. But ours was a damn close race.

David, although I slept at the light and let u win, I really was expecting you to drag me alot worse than u did... so what happened? Did u let off or something? lol

i came up with the classes then we all fine tuned what i initally came up with and have dealt with bumps everytime a new car came out in each class.

no matter what there will be someone faster and some time quite a bit faster...competitive nature along with limited funds to race with causes people to get ancey but thats racing.

its hard to make classes and rules to fit everyone we as a group attempted to do so and didnt foresee the troubles we are having

from the begining amy has intended to run the 79 and from the begining she was gonna crack the mens ass in what ever class that the car fit in also...so watch out

as for the change in the tow truck class rules i put up a post to see if there was any flack on adding the 15.00 second breakout.no one complained

that class was intended for the racers tow vehicles as an added attraction..

if your tow truck is faster than a 15.00..theres a class for you. that was my opinion

i said it once and ill say it again some rules need to be updated because we didnt throw in some varibles that have came up...noone forseen these problems...but instead of moaning and groaning lets be cool calm collective and work together to fine tune them gettting pissed

Donnie, any glass shop should be able to make a pattern & send it off to have tempered glass made for it. Tempered is what came in it & is best for it. Plexiglass will fade & scratch over time. Trying to figure out, I have read back several days trying to see where anyone ask about rules, and also looked at rules to see which ones changed.I also had a problem finding where anyone ask for someone to return a trophie. I do see a change in the tow truck rules, added an ET limit; but I dont understand why everybody is so bitchey.if You read My post I did ask for a little move for My Wife in the Queens class, but any car could give a 2 second move and still out run what She has to work with.just trying to clarify a thing or too.
Only thing I`m sure of is that the little Labmouse has been chewing on its cage all week wonting some of that Hooptie and the Buick, lets race people.

I'm still pissed about my up coming trip, So let me unload a little bit. There is no reason what so ever for Amy to turn in her trophy, WHY you ask,[#1] She holds the #1 spot,[#2] The only woman running in that class that has beat her time is my wife [she beat your on motor time to Jen] but the challange race between them never happened because Rebekah did not like the why my car was walking around at the track that day, So we forfited and Amy retained her 1st place spot. So if anybody should have a grip it us, Because she went form a car we could beat to one we more than likly can't, But ha cry babies thats racing. When did it become a bad thing to want more speed? [#3] Its no secret that they were building the 79 [FOR HER] no doubt it will go quicker the her red car did. There for she will still have the quickest time in the class.[#4] If any of the other ladies think she will be to fast for them you can do 1 of 3 things; Get a faster car, Ask for a wiggle or be happy to chase the 2ed or 3rd spot. Why we on the subject for turning in trophies. We just had a big deal about the Kings class. Here we have a Broke car holding the spot, Is that right? In my oppion NO! Did I keep a spot if my car was down? NO!,Did Byran or Yancy? NO! But did I stand up for them? Yes because as the rules state [for now] They can hold that spot until there time is beat.Is this bullshit? Pretty Much!!!! But its the rule and as a committee member I have to stick to them and stand behind them. Like it or not. Amy's car will be running, She will defend her spot by racing, Nothing in the rules limits her to what she can drive, She wants to race so I say shut the hell up and let her race. Its simply if you think she should not hold the 1st place spot, Make a challenge and take it. As a committee member in my oppion there is no reason what so ever to have any kind of vote on this B/S. As of the last time I talked to Jamie, he went from 3rd to 1st in their class. So far, all they got was a 9:60 on motor, but they're having some kinks with the car. Jamie's gettin a taste of the alky setup, and he's doing backflips being able to compete especially in someone else's car!!!!!

Chucky doesn't mind racing with the small guys hell at least there not coward to run and they do it on the street. The only fifteen you'll get is a hard fifteen inches if you know what I mean. Ronnie should not have any trouble getting into the 9,s with a 514" motor in a fox body. I did it with a smaller 482" motor in my 69 Camaro. No nitrous, no turbo, and no blower, just raw power! And the car was 100% street legal.

All Chucky wants is to get a race. Candy I dont have anything to prove. You win some you lose some but when you win and your apponet has a problem with his car Hell thats winning too BUT that win leave the mind wondering. Candy have a new engine, X has a new engine, Chucky had his pipe welded. Now all the problems or fixed. Chucky don't want the mind to wonder. X and Candy, only cowards makes excuses. you know what I'm talking about X. (the road has a bump in it). I have to try my new tires out first, Down town my car is too loud, I want to run 1/4 mile and a 1/2, I want to go to the track first to see what my car can do.

P.S. Candy you tell Chucky that he need to get by X first. If thats not a coward you tell me what is. Just be a man about the ordeal and come get some.

I don't consider 'racing downtown' racing; it's more like suicide, from an impoundment point of view. X is indeed emitting more db than any turbo counterpart.
Chucky has lost the last (2) races due to poor mechanical workmanship and/or good judgement by its driver... that would be 2/2 in the breakdown (DNF) statistics.
I reject your challenge because you are not any challenge. Bryan C. will upset your car at the track, X will kill you there.
Make it interesting fool. Bring your money and I'll bring my untested, new suspension geometry to Eunice this Saturday. It might prove interesting; ante up what makes you happy.
I think they still allow tractor pullers to make passes so you will be allowed to run!

IROC-X broke the rear U-joint at Eunice this past Saturday. As soon as my new 1350 series pinion yoke arrives, I'll handle that 4-door, tractor-pulling impersonator, Chucky... any way he wants it. Please be patient. X will be "hunting" again by the weekend.
When I get through with him, he'll start being good. He's going to look like a little altar-boy serving the 9:00 am church service. He'll be real good. Big Nasty, under X's hood, will see to that.

there are some dodges that are coming that run in the 12s...ask jen about them guys at the clash with them pumped up diesels...they leave you in aww...

these trucks can fit in the other truck classes no doubt..

The car ran great at the old place and hopefully the weather will start cooling down some so it isn't so dog gone hot to be out there in the middle of the day..Just to give you some idea how well Eunice hooks I had a best 60' at Hallsville ( 1.601) and at Eunice last Saturday I had a (1.611) on my second pass !! My best pass was a 11.98 @ 115 and once the Mustang didn't show we just put some air back in the Drag Radials and drove it home....

then maybe Wayne whose new/old 496" Steve Nicholl motor should prove to have the grunt (if he can get his nitrous tune-up correct), then probably Dustin rounding up the top (5), if he has sent his heads to a reputable "port-man" and carries an extra 3 dozen spark plugs to the track.

(my only gripe about this is that people want us to forfeit)

I have a question about the "CLUB" rules. And no I am not a member, just an outside observer. Okay, the rules state that you have to win a race for a spot, or if your car is unable to meet a challenge, the challenger has to beat your best time by a few 10ths. Well what happens if you are racing the champ and his car breaks during the race and you win BUT you don't beat his or her best time by the alotted time? Then what? I agree that all broken times should be done at club events. Yes, buick(birdboy)has a point about cuttin' better lights but, some people are impossible to beat off the line. So, if you're counting on that, baby ya'll need to step up in other ways to ensure a win. Faster times are faster times! ex: Trent's truck is alot faster than ours, but b/c I treed him - I won, and the worst part about that was that I went slower that pass than I had all day long. Which totally sux for the faster vehicle! Can you all see my point on that?
Whomever has THE FASTEST VEHICLE SHOULD GET,KEEP, OR HOLD THEIR SPOTS UNTIL THEIR TIME IS BEATEN. AND IT DEFINATELY SHOULD BE DONE AT CLUB RACES!

Dont look like much but Billy Farris has been working his ass off cleaning up the place.

Billy has worked up a lease plan with the land owner and is progressing every day. The entrance road is drivable...went up it on friday in my Daewoo...the track surface and the return road is being cleared..Frenchman and Billy are getting together about getting one of Frenchmans sweepers to sweep the surface. Johnny Perry has brought addional equipment out and Jimmy Osborne and Tommy Kinder took a ride tuesday afternoon to offer help too.

Billy welcomes any one to come see the progress and have a BS session any afternoon. Billy thanks everyone for the support he isreciving in this vast task of taking the old track back from the grave.

It seems like the club is picking up and could very easily get unorganized.We as a club or a commitee for that matter have not had a meeting or even a cruise in in a while. We need to get together and go over some things. and make some contacts to set up a meeting place where We can be seen and show off our work.

commitee members, something has been brought to attention.
with all the ranting about times to beat, some ask where and when a time to beat pass is made,should it be a club event or just anywhere. Input is needed on this.seems as some of the posted E.T. where made at non club events. Not wanting to knock anybodies performance, but fair is fair.There have been members run quicker times outside of club events and dont hold a spot.We need some input, not critisim. This is suppose to be fun and needs to be fare to all

The beat a time pass should be handled just like a club race. If you were going to take a person's spot whos car was running you have to do it at a club race, You correct fair is fair, What I can see happening is the club racing at Eunice and somone one going to HRP or somewhere else the same time amd running a quicker time than a spot holder did that day and saying well there spot is now mine then you have another misunderstanding. Keep it as simply as you can, Do it all the same way, Do it all at club events, Less loop-holes less misunderstandings.

I agree with what everyone else is saying it should be a club event from here on out. But the ones that have them now should be able to keep them since our local track was down for a year and only two or three club events were held during that time. Everyone was able and capable but did not want to travel so that is their Bad. So maybe it should be a rule from here on out.

There is no reason for anyone to give up there spot unless they get beat or choose too. When I said Eunice, Thats just a track I said to make my point, But all places should change hands only at club events at what ever track the club race is at.

about being down for so long.ya'll believe what ya want to but I will be there for the next meeting or something stressing the issue of if your gonna be mechanically down for more than two races your out. I can tell you from experience as I am sure you know, a racer could be a few tenths slower than mali and cut a better tree and beat her in person so the two tenths faster thing without her there is kinda a hard rule to take in. especially when she's sceaming like a baby with a lollipop in her hand about a rule on a page that my dumbass needs to go look at and I go and it isnt there. I really thought that was funny so I posted all the rules that most dont see anyway to prove her wrong is all. I understand you made a typo, your a busy man.no problem. just was reading them as they were stated.

Buick-killer makes a good point. Personally, I don't really care about a $10 trophy, but there are others that do. I say, "Give the #1 spot to J.C. whose outstanding pass at the last club race would dictate." Many of you spectating cannot fathom the magnitude of the quickness of that goat... I can as I attempted to chase him down, w/ a much better perception of the pass. That car is just plain fast and deserves that recognition. I forgot to inquire of J.C.'s 1/8 mile E.T., but suffice it to say that he was deserving of the glory. He did it. Please acknowledge it as such.
What "did" that true 10.5" car run the eighth in, J.C.?

John Forest says u just butterin him up for the kill, huh. Time slip only has the quartermile time. I guess the 1/8 mile timer was screwed up.
As far as the trophy goes, when first talking to eddie when I joined I told him I was not interested in a trophy, just to have a good time and enjoy a little grudge racing.
Mali deserves the trophy till someone beats the time as the rules state.
Frenchie, put the NASTY pills in and go for it, Or call Mali out for the next race. I plan on being in San Antonio the weekend before the next scheduled race and don't know if I can make it.

Rules and Trophies -- Bryan, 18:02:20 08/11/03 Mon

Buick Killer since you know everyone so well let me tell ya how it went down with me. 1st I was never beaten at the track or on the street by anyone. I held the trophie all last year till January of this year I even defended it in January 4th at Hallsville against Mali and was Challenged by Wayne's SS Chevelle but he had problems and did not show J.C. Also Challenged but would not post his times so I declinded the offer. After that race we were asked to turn the trophie in because it was the start of a new year and I was also putting my car in the paint shop and leaving out of state working so I gracefully backed out and let someone else have the spot. This person was Jamie the owner of Mali
which held this spot till now. He did indeed run a 9.35 pass because I was there in fact it was 1.37 60 foot 5.46 1/8 and a 9.35 Quarter mile. Also Yancy in the 69 Camaro and Donnie in his 76 Camaro went out undefeated and turned theirs in also. We got them back for holding the spots for last year.So if you are looking to get the trophie you wont have it for because Mali will get it back since the spot has been Jamies for 8 mouths now.

A current king/queen is allowed one missed race due to mechanical troubles or work schedule. If that king is unable to show at the second race after he/she has missed one race, a forfeit will occur only if his/her e.t. had been beaten. If the et had been beaten by more than one member those members must battle in best 2 out of 3 races till there is one car left. That car will be moved to the spot and the former king gets first shot to regain his/her spot.

Now it was supposed to read by 2ths but yours truely didnt put it in there when it was supposed to be put

donnie,david,bryan,andy,jonathon,jen,and myself had agreed on this when the subject was brought up way back when.

Again i will say it needs to be revamped but we cant revamp it untill Team Mali agrees to conditions..

Just dont hate on me to bad...lol...i attempted to make it as simple and fairest as possible.

J.C. is the man to beat right now no doubt..im sure he will put those # on the board soon.

Now instead of all the fussing lets see where the rules need to be revamped..

Your offer makes about as much sense as the phone call I got last night from the 4-lane in Marksville... some kids were out there trying to "hustle" a bunch of teenagers driving a bunch of "tricky trucks" with their nitroused, whipple-charged SVT stangs.
Well, so happened that a friend of mine was there and referred the Houston boys to me; called me at 1:30 am and then again at 3:00 am. I told them that it wasn't worth my time... (kinda like you Jen) But the competitor in me finally said ok, and told them that I'd run 'em anyway they want it but not in the dark hours. We'd do it today: pump gas to pump gas/ nitrous to nitrous/ street radial to street radial/ or slicks to slicks. My only condition was to bet some money. At least $500. As of right now, I haven't heard anything, maybe they made retreat to nurse their hangovers. But call me today if you feel the need to "scratch your itch today" 318-447-2747 (mob) and bring your money with you, please. I'll give you the second race, after I finish w/ the Houston primadonnas. My hat is off to the one's doing the work at the old Cenla track, I for one thought she was to far gone but I'm glad to see there are those with more vision than I had at that time, There is no reason what so ever that a home town track would not make it running the correct format. I just wanted to let everyone know that Mali will be down longer than we expected. It's looking like she may not see a race til later this year or possible even next yr. If anyone can lay down a 9.00 the spot is theirs!
On another note, we ran the buick yesterday and God help whoever challenged me!! That is a different car! I think I'm gonna have to learn to drive it all over again. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be spraying it no time soon. ha ha ha. I have NEVER boiled the et streets before but it does now! Jamie put a bigger converter in it and I didn't know it, not sure yet if it's gonna be too much or what. I definately gotta get seat time in before I run anyone.

I to am a committee member and one of those who voted on the 2/10s rule. I can understand both sides of this disagreement, But rules are rules like them or not. And rules are also made to be changed so buickkiler you said your a member there 2 things you can do #1 try to get a vote and have the rules changed or #2 Show us what you got, step-up and beat the time, It would appear that JC would have no problem running the #'s and more than likly would have if not for fuel problems, And Frenchman is also making sub 9 sec clams so the spot will more than likly change hands soon. So buickkiler you ask for people to speak up on this matter, beware of what for ask for it may not always be what you wanted.

Plain and simple laid out rules

I proposed a set of classes and rules to go by to TRY to get a fair playing ground for everyone

To the ones complaining did you decicate any effort or time to try to do this???

When the rules/classes were posted i made a voting poll and left it up for a week.

Now everything can be fine tuned in time and i see your point where 2ths is a big difference buickkiller but thats the rules that were made and voted on...

the 2ths rule was made to eliminate someone to call some one out and not out perform the spot holder when they out of town or down because of breakage..

As far as rule breaking or rules being made for one racer thats out of line...these rules and classes were made before mali even joined the club....Bryan C recruited Team Mali to the club after they were in place..

i see that it should be a 10th to take a persons spot after thinking on how hard it is to gain those presious hundreds when u dig in the single digit zone..

after Mali is out run per the rules we will vote on the isssue of a 10th bump

jen has played by the rules...dont hate on her for that

like i said futher down the page world records arent erased when some one dies.....they are when there broken...

thats why the cushion was made...put your self in there shoes and think a minute

I just would like to see the trophy in the hands of the fastest car or truck at any given month that way when some one from texas or mississippi or something comes up and says hey we want to race your #1 top gun car or whatever we as a club dont have to say (oh well um our top gun car is out of commission right now and could we do this like maybe 8 months down the road!!!) no we can say ok we'll get them here on the next weekend or whenever it can be done. thats all. and then at the end of the year the longest holder gets to keep it. whats the problem?

I never said Mali went a 9.00. Her best was a 9.35- therefore someone wanting her spot must run a 9.15. If you can run a 9.15 then you are surely capable of running a 9.00 My hats off to whomever does beat her times. I would actually love to see more cars come out, and take interest. That's what makes it fun, to have several cars running in a class and not the same 2,3, or 4.
The rules have already been voted on, if you're a member, then you would already know this. Nobody has bent any rules for anyone! Neither me, nor Eddie or any others that I'm aware of.
If someone from out of town, or state wants to run someone, then isn't it up to the individuals' themselves to contact each other? Are you just a lil pion running around stirring shit with our club? We aren't concerned about people from out of state!
Jc and others can challenge all the hell they want but until Mali's times are beaten, the spot is hers! And if JC wants to run I'm sure he's man enough to let us know himself, and not go thru channels to do it!

Who's bending rules? It's been the same from the get go. It's ALWAYS BEEN THE 2/10THS TIME BREAKAGE.
If the spotholder is not present at the next race that's considered his "missed" race. If he's not at the next one, it don't matter-his time has to be broken by 2/10ths in order for his spot to be lost. You best check yourself before you get on here talking shit that you don't know about.
I said 9 flats b/c anyone that runs a 9.15 should damn well be able to lay a 9.00 wouldn't ya think?

The surface really looks better than most thought, I drove My truck 60 mph from one end to the other.I think the person taking charge is going in the right direction.But He needs some help and everybodies support. Saturday morning they will arrive at 8ish... If you have free time go by and show interest in the place..Offer a helping hand...This will show them that there really is people interested not just blowing smoke.
