Subject: Vienen [oil rig ep- spoilers]

Well, I can't say this was a marvellous ep. Of course Mulder was just wonderful in it. Just loved the way Scully was not impressed with him in the meeting with Kersh , Skinner and Doggy. Love how he makes himself at home in HIS office. I also notice that the poster is still there. Although I think it's now pertinent to Doggy. As for the conversation between Scully and Mulder. Anyone see the look of surprise and wonder on her face to hear Mulder's voice on the other end of the radio? She was glad to know he was there, glad to hear his voice and also amazed that that was where he was. And his comment about the kid...well that proves what I thought about last week's ep where Mulder is definitely thinking of himself as the father or father figure for this kid and the man is Scully's life. All that pizza talk last week only served to confirm that Mulder and Scully are a couple who belong to eachother , albeit in an odd or unconventional way. If he wasn't the kid's father then why would scully need to tell the kid anything about him?

Doggy is still a dork. He had no duristiction on that rig. I just love the way Mulder walked all over him. Doggy has no idea when it comes to investigating X Files. That was clear when he was investigating with Scully. His detective abilities are good but his X Filey abilities are non existent. He had no idea how to go about investigating the oil thing. Also I don't think Mulder was too concerned about leaving the X Files. I think he intended it even before he got abducted. That is why he wanted Scully to look at other things she could be doing. He too is the one who keeps reminding Scully that she will have more important things to keep her occupied than the X Files. I think he does that again in next week's Ep. Actually this coming week is the one where she leaves the X Files and next week is Essence. So we have three more eps. Two before the finale. Yay!. Can't wait to know what happens and I'm so glad I am spoiler free for these eps. Well basically spoiler free.

I did like the part of the vienen story about the radio noise controlling the oil -ridden riggers. That, at least was X Filey . But to me this ep was just another way to keep Mulder and Scully apart so that CC wouldn't have to deal with their relationship and how they act with eachother now that they are going to be parents together. I also like the fact that Mulder and Scully don't always keep tabs on eachother. That much has not changed. She didn't know he was in teh basement. He didn't know she was in Kersh's office. She couldn't get hold of him and then he turns up on the oil rig. She didn't know he had gone. Problably would have had kittens if he had told her in the first place. I think she is torn between wanting him close by and and revelling in the fact that he is back to his old tricks. I love Mulder. I will be sad to not have him in the show anymore.

One of our TV guides said that DD will not be returning next year but will appear in the odd cameo. YES!!!!! And there is definitely going to be a S9. Good on them , I say. And I hope that GA is only going to be in it part time too. And they had better be in the same eps together or at least show that they are together as a family of sorts. They should because their relationship will not be central to the show anymore so it shouldn't matter that we know they are having sex everynight and raising their child together. CC can keep Doggy and Reyes as chaste as he wants.

Well I think I've covered it all.
