Subject: If the screen actors and/or writers go on strike

What effect do you think a strike by the screen writers or Screen Actors Guild will have on the future of "The X-Files". Will it make them more likely to cancel it? Less likely? If DD signs a contract to film, say, eight episodes, for season nine and because of one or both strikes they only end up filming 10-12 eps, I wonder if they'll still do all eight with him and only inflicting three or four Mulderless eps on us?
In a worst case scenario, where they actually don't film at all next season (highly unlikely) where do things pick back up? GA has only signed for one more season after this one. If they don't film at all during the 2001-2002 season is she done with XF? Or does "Season Nine" just begin whenever the strike ends, even if it's a full year after Season Eight ends?
